Channels are defined as the amount of incoming calls that can be received at a DID Virtual Number.
Therefore, if your DID Virtual Number includes two channels, this means you can receive two incoming calls at the same time. At 8DID, we allow you to add flexible or exclusive channels to your DID Virtual Numbers in order to increase the amount of simultaneous calls.
Exclusives (non shared)
Channels are assigned to a determined DID Virtual Number and allow simultaneous calls only to that particular number.
Keep in mind that every DID Virtual Numbers makes use of two exclusive channels by default with no additional cost. Nevertheless, you can increase the capacity of simultaneous calls for your selected numbers by acquiring additional channels.
These channels are assigned to a group of selected DID Virtual numbers and they allow you to receive simultaneous calls in that very number group. AsAs more incoming calls are received, more flexible channels are assigned dinamically to each DID Virtual Number within a group, specifying which DID Virtual Number will receive the call first. This group of numbers can be composed by DID Virtual Numbers from around the world. For example, virtual numbers from Canada, Spain and Australia can be included in the same group of flexible channels.
It is worth noting that every DID Virtual Number makes use of two exclusive channels by default plus any channels that you purchase. This ensures that even if all the flexible channels assigned are occupied, your DID Virtual Number has the capacity to receive (at least) two incoming simultaneous calls.
Virtual PLUS (large volumes)
This is a special service for companies that use VoIP (SIP, IAX or H323), and it allows you to acquire up to 30 channels for each DID Virtual Number. This service is ideal for call centers and companies with a large volume of incoming calls.
